Story Dice

Ages 4–7 · 10 minutes · You’ll need: Printable picture cards

Roll pictures and build a story together, one sentence each.

Set up

Picture cards, story dice, or roll on this device.

How to play

  1. Roll three pictures.
  2. The youngest starts the story with the first picture.
  3. Take turns adding a sentence for each picture.
  4. Give the story a title together.
  5. Roll again with one more picture.

What to say

  • “And then what happened?”
  • “Why did they do that?”
  • “How did it end?”

Easier: Two pictures, and you help with the first sentence.

Harder: Five pictures, and the story must end with a surprise.

End with one question: “Which part of the story was your favourite?”
